further details on the process
We will provide a safe living space, clothing, and any day-to-day living needs for our candidates while they complete the process.
Every candidate will receive an initial medical screening and psychiatric evaluation to ensure they’re healthy and meet the requirements to continue the process.
A high school diploma or GED/HSED is required to enlist so we will assist in enrollment and completion.
Candidates will be provided study materials for the ASVAB(Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Test) which tests knowledge of basic concepts and skills and determines what branch and rank in the military they will be eligible for.
Candidates will develop fitness goals based on the requirements of their branch of choice and be provided a gym membership and personal training to ensure they’re prepared to crush any fitness tests along the way.
The final step is enlistment in the branch of their choosing.
It’s important to add, should an issue come up that prevents enlistment, the candidate will not be sent packing, instead they will get assistance finding a job as well as assistance locating housing.
Second Chance Heroes, Inc. will also help young adults graduating from the foster care system through the enlistment process, as well as other efforts to help the homeless population.
